CONFERENCE THEME: : Transforming Nigeria’s Transport and Logistics Systems for Shared Prosperity and Sustainable Infrastructure

2026 Annual Conference of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Nigeria (CILT 2026)

Transport and logistics systems are the backbone of national economic development, trade competitiveness, and social integration. Efficient and resilient transport infrastructure enables the movement of goods, services, and people, thereby facilitating economic productivity and national prosperity. In Nigeria, however, challenges such as infrastructure deficits, congestion, fragmented logistics networks, policy inconsistencies, and limited multimodal integration continue to constrain the efficiency of the transport and logistics sector.

OBJECTIVES

The conference will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, practitioners, academics, and stakeholders to
deliberate on achieving sustainability while maximizing profitability within Nigeria’s maritime and inland water
sectors.

  • To examine the current state of Nigeria’s transport and logistics systems and identify key transformation priorities.

  • Examining the role of digital technologies, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and intelligent transport systems in modern logistics operations.

Session 3: Integrated Multimodal Transport and National Connectivity

  • Addressing strategies for integrating road, rail, maritime, aviation, and inland waterways to improve freight and passenger mobility.

Session 4: Transport Governance, Policy Reform, and Infrastructure Financing

  • Discussing regulatory frameworks, institutional coordination, public-private partnerships, and innovative financing mechanisms for transport infrastructure.

Session 5: Human Capital Development and Professional Excellence in Transport and Logistics
